Electronic Dance Magic

*** This week we look at some memorable ways to re-imagine your favourite Electronic/Dance songs->

There are few genres that have been more consistently fun than Electronic-Dance! It has evolved a long way since beginning as House music in the late 1980s, morphing into 1990s Techno and 2000s Dance-Pop and most recently 2010s and 2020s EDM. Regardless of the name, this genre has filled Clubs and Dance Floors with songs we have loved for almost 4 Decades. These songs are like a tattoo of your youth. For some they remind of listening along with friends in high school, for others these songs remind them of hitting the clubs and dancing through the night. These sounds evoke powerful and exciting memories, which is why playing them earlier on in the evening can be such a great idea! While these songs are often included within a flurry of late-night-dance selections, we have found many creative ways to include them earlier through cocktails, dinner or First Dances, creating a similar powerful excitement in the process. The joy of hearing your favourite EDM song performed as a First Dance or a classic 1990s House song sung as Cocktail Jazz is just such a wonderful surprise. And best of all, most of these are all songs about being young and in love, which is pretty much what wedding and event music is all about! So let us begin looking at our favourite times to include these Dance/Electronic songs within your event music, along with a list of 50 of our favourite songs to help inspire your own dance party - BM
