80s Retro-Cocktails

Some of the fun we have with cocktail music is in sprinkling in super-fun songs that you would never expect. One thing you can say about the 1980s: It is FULL of super-fun songs! When inserted into a jazzy-cocktail vibe, they become timeless works of art that fit pretty much any cocktail hour. From New-Wave to Hard Rock to Rap to Boogie and Movie Soundtracks, there is just so much incredible material to work with. If you have been following along on our social media pages lately you may have notices our recent focus on song years. Dubbed as "The History Of Happy Music", we have grown incredibly interested in looking at the hits of a specific year in music and the way the sound changes and flows from year to year. There are so many more distinctions and differences in sound than you would ever imagine as popular musicians and producers have always sought to follow the IN sound as it morphs and changes. While this week's focus is exclusively on 1983 (be sure to watch Thursday night's show, there are so many good ones) we honestly could have chosen any year as there is just so very much to choose from. Out of our passion for the 1980's, we have included our TOP 8 songs from every single year to give you a master guide for planning your next retro 80s theme party. Grand your bangles, cut-off t-shirts and high-waisted jeans, we are going through our favourite 80s gems that have stood the test of time (at least in our humble, yet super-biased opinions.)
